Marriage

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body.   (Gen. 2:24)

Marriage is both a sacrament and a covenant between a man and a woman who unite in a permanent union together and who are capable of knowing and loving each other and God.   The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act and is held in a public liturgy at church.

St. Raphael Parish gladly welcomes Catholics who wish to be married in the church. Preparation for the sacrament of marriage should begin 9 months to one year before the marriage date. Couples will have the opportunity to meet with the Pastor and with the Marriage Coordinators who assist the Pastor in marriage preparation at the parish.
