Becoming Catholic

Thinking about becoming Catholic?

Are you thinking about becoming Catholic?  Or perhaps returning to the Catholic Church after a long period of time away?  No matter when you begin to consider Catholicism, know that we are here for you.  Catholic Parishes have inquiry periods that allow those seeking to become Catholic the opportunity to learn more about the faith.  If participants feel they are ready to continue the journey towards becoming Catholic, they move into a deeper level of Faith Formation.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process of inquiry and a process of initiation into the Catholic Church.  It is designed specifically for those who have not yet been baptized; however, the RCIA welcomes individuals who have been baptized in other Christian traditions as well as those who have been baptized Catholic but have not received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

There is no commitment required to begin this process.  Throughout each period of the RCIA, participants discern God’s call in their lives and their readiness to move forward to the next period.  Participants are welcome to stay in the RCIA for as long as they wish, with no pressure to move forward when they are not ready.

If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in becoming Catholic, complete our RCIA Intake Form and contact Kate McGrath, Pastoral Associate by e-mail at Kate.McGrath@st-raphael-parish.org or by phone at 603-623-2604.  Click this link: RCIA Syllabus for the 2021-2022 schedule and overview.
