The greatest gift parents can give their children is to introduce them to an ongoing living relationship with God in Jesus Christ. At Saint Raphael Parish, we envision Lifelong Faith Formation as a partnership between the parish and the parents whose families we are here to serve.

A Family of Faith: For the 2025-2026 faith formation year, we will be using a program that is family centered, designed with two sessions per month.  On the first Sunday of every month, families will attend our 9:30am Mass, followed by coffee and donuts.  On the third Sunday of every month, families will attend our 9:30am Mass, followed by a parent and child lesson.  Between sessions, parents will work with their children to complete assigned lessons from their faith formation workbooks.

One of Saint Raphael’s most important activities is the formation of our children in their encounter with the Incarnate, Crucified and Risen Christ.  Essential to parish life is knowing what we believe as Catholics and how we express that belief in love.  As a result, teaching Catholic doctrine and practice are important features of life in the parish. While this responsibility is fundamentally one for the home, the parish takes its role in such formation seriously and joyously.

The model for our Faith Formation program is family centered, a concept that recognizes and encourages the involvement of parents and guardians, grandparents and other family members, as well as parishioners in general.  Our Faith Formation program runs from November through April and consists of Mass and Parent/Child meetings, as well as assigned activities to do at home with your child(ren).

PLEASE NOTE: If your child(ren) has been baptized and will be preparing to receive the sacraments of Penance (2nd Grade) and the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion (3rd Grade), a baptism information sheet (click here) must also be completed and submitted with the registration form.  If your child was baptized at Saint Raphael Parish, please simply include the month and approximate year of baptism.  If your child was baptized at a parish other than Saint Raphael’s, an authentic baptism certificate must be mailed from the parish in which your child was baptized to 103 Walker Street, Manchester, New Hampshire, 03102, Attn: Kate.

If your child has not yet been baptized, though has reached the age of reason (8 years old), please contact Kate at kate.mcgrath@st-raphael-parish.org for more information about the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, adapted for children.
