Consolation Ministry

The God of all comfort who comforts us in all our trouble, so that we can comfort those
in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.  (2 Cor. 1:3-4)

As Christians, we are called to support and comfort those who are sick or sorrowing.  St. Raphael has a long tradition of offering consolation to the sick through an active team of lay Eucharistic Ministers who visit parish members residing in nursing homes, in the hospital or who have become homebound.   These ministers bring the Eucharist to those who wish to receive it and bring the love of Christ through their caring presence.

St. Raphael also maintains the tradition of mercy meals following funeral Masses held at the parish.  A dedicated team of men and women from the parish organize food donations and serve a light meal following the Mass, giving those in attendance the opportunity to gather together as they mourn their loved one.  For more information, click here.
